Perry School landmark designation under commission review
The Historic Preservation Commission was scheduled to consider landmark designation for Perry School at 633 West Perry Street, built in 1897. Staff recommended approval, noting the building is believed to be the second oldest continuously operating public elementary school in Illinois and retains much of its original design integrity including stone foundation, brown brick, and distinctive circular windows.
